We may not control events, but we can learn to control how we choose to respond to events.

This leads to self-mastery and maximises our ability to achieve any stated goal.

You may prefer the terms structure, function and order, or space, power, and time, the important point is that there are always three aspects to every event and every thing: spatial structure, inherent power and duration in time. This trinity is enshrined in many world religions because it provides the way out of polarity.

If we become concious of this and if we choose to take responsibility for our choices we can find it easy to transcend the limitations of duality, good or bad, black or white, right or wrong, us or them. We know in real life nothing is ever that simple and trying to make it so can generate unresolved negative emotions which in turn can lead to stress.

The number one cause of problems in any business or relationship is poor communication. The skills of communication were identified by the Ancient Greeks as: Rhetoric, Grammar and Logic which comprise the Trivium, the first three of the 7 Liberal Arts. NLP is a re-coding of these principles.

The main reason why people do not listen or speak clearly is stress, people generally are doing the best they can.

Stress is caused by the fact that society does not recognise the hard-wired 'fight or flight' response as  appropriate behaviour. You may feel like running away from an angry boss, or hitting a thoughtless partner, but you don't. Your body is obliged to absorb the frustration.
