HIDDEN SCIENCE

Hidden Science is sometimes called The Perennial Philosophy, The Philosopher's Stone, The Holy Grail or The Secret Teachings. It is Science in the sense of being knowable, and Hidden in the sense that you have to look for it. Simply it is the traditional teachings of all ancient cultures which are based on the recognition of the unity of all things. In the East this concep t is symboli sed by the Yin and Yang, in the West by the Hermetic dictum 'As above, so below', or the Christian 'Do as you would be done by'. At its simplest this means any increased control over yourself will give you greater control over what happens.

Hidden Science implies the law of cause and effect. Whatever action you take, including thinking, has an effect, which becomes the cause of something else. The assumption of responsibility for what is happening in your life, whether you like it or not, is your ticket to freedom. You may not control events, but you do control how you respond.

In the distant past this was common knowledge and allowed people to develop a relationship with the natural world that is regarded still by many today as superstition. In fact, it is clear from the increasing use of traditional plants as the basis for modern drugs, that our ancestors had an extraordinarily sophisticated and practical understanding of nature and their place in it.

In the old days this information was freely available, but then around 1500BC there began a shift towards patriarchy and the information went underground to be revealed only to initiates. Although these teachings are at the heart of all religions, which is why people respond to them, over millennia secrecy has distorted the organisations that used this knowledge to create power structures and amass wealth, rather than help and heal the poor and dispossessed. These are man made structures which we can learn to transcend.

At the end of the last ice age some 12000 years ago a vast inland sea the size of the Meditterranean burst through the receding glaciers of North America gouging out the St Lawrence river, crashing into the Atlantic ocean, causing vast Tsunamis and raising sea levels 300 feet in 100 years. The millions of people who died echo through to us in All Souls Day.

It would follow that those not killed outright, ( populations always congregate around rivers and seas), would either be at sea or on high ground, and able to keep moving higher and higher. This may help explain the enormous number of Neolithic remains littering the rocky outposts of western europe.

Whatever one makes from the universal stories of buried cities, lost civilisations such as Yonaguni off Japan, the Bimini Road in the Bahamas, the Bay of Cambay ruins in North East India and so on, there is at least very, very solid evidence of something extraordinairy.

Two things are clear. First, at some point there was a world wide civilisation that built with an accuracy and on a scale that even today we cannot accomplish.

The above megalith, still lying in Baalbeck, has been estimated to weigh 2000 tons, compare it with the size of the man !

The second thing is the stunning accuracy of the ancients astronomical observations, and the science they employed to make their observations. Thanks to the meticulous surveying of Professor Alexander Thom we now know that Neolithic stone circles in Scotland, England, Wales ( and now thanks to new research, France,) were constructed using 'Pythagorean' triangles 4000 years before Pythagoras. This allowed them to track key movements in the Sun and Moon cycles. How did they figure it out?

The Great Pyramid of Giza, the ultimate symbol of the marriage of heaven and earth because, amongst many other things, its dimensions define Pi, came towards  the END of that tradition. Building skills deteriorated from then, not withstanding that Pyramids have now been found all over the world, including Bosnia!

Hidden Science is my take on how to integrate the immense wisdom of the Ancients in our modern lives, cut off as we are from natural cycles and processes by our extraordinairy technological progress. We must unite our ancient wisdom with our technology, or as Socrates put it, install the Heavenly pattern in ourselves.

Now is the time realise our destiny as the managers of our very own intergalactic spaceship Earth.
